What to Get Your Friends for Christmas (with a budget)

Deciding what to get my friends for Christmas and who i am going to buy presents for is always hard. Everyone likes different things and the price always adds up. Here are 3 tips and ideas on what to buy your friends:

1. A Set of Earrings from Claire's! I normally go for a Christmas themed set but it's totally up to you. They normally cost around £9.00 and you get 9 in a set. I always make my cards but it's your choice. Buy/make a card with a Christmas tree on and then take the earrings off the plastic and hang them on the card. This way it looks like you have spent a lot of time and effort on it. If this isn't enough then you could always buy a set of Christmas tree shaped chocolates that you can also hang on your Christmas tree and put one or two in the envelope.

2. Topshop Socks! I have 3 really close friends and Topshop always have a 3 for £8 deal on their socks so this would be perfect. They look so expensive and everyone loves socks so you can't go wrong with them! Again you could make a card and put a few chocolates in the envelope.

3. A Photo Frame! If you have a really close friend then this is a perfect present. You could either buy a pretty frame or you could buy a plain frame and decorate it with buttons, shells or feathers. Then put a picture of you two in it together and job done!

I hope these helped, what are you getting your best friend for Christmas?xox

My Maybelline Mascaras

Hey guys,
My aim is to get to 100 followers by christmas and i already have a giveaway planned!

I like to switch up my mascara a lot because sometimes i want fuller lashes but sometimes i want curly lashes. I only own two Maybelline mascaras because i have no need for any more and these are the two most raved about in the blogger world.
Obviously The Falsies was going to be one of the two i would buy. It's so crazy how this mascara has been out for years and years and most bloggers say it beats any high end mascara and they have even re-purchased it. This is my favourite mascara to use for my bottom lashes because it has a curled applicator and doesn't overload them so is really easy to use. It is completely clump free and i find this mascara is the easiest to apply without a mirror because you can't overload it. It's also light and thin so is perfect for make up bags. I would recommend this mascara to people that are starting out their make up collection or just want a more natural looking mascara.
The Rocket Volum' Express Mascara is a lot newer than The Falsies and a lot thicker. I find this mascara to be easy to overload and end up looking like you have 5 day old false lashes on. This mascara does clump a little. The applicator is called a "Glide Brush", it doesn't glide at all it clumps up and gives your lashes an uneven look. This mascara isn't for me because i don't have many lashes and the ones i do have are very thin. After taking this mascara off my eyelashes always feel like rubber. This mascara is more for people that do their eye make up day-to-day and want a thick mascara.

As you can probably guess I prefer The Falsies.

What's your favourite mascara?xox

My weekly Wanties #6

Hair Chalk: This is defiantly on my Christmas list! I know you can use real chalk on your hair but that can easily damage your hair or smudge onto your clothes very easily. I have wanted pastel pink hair for a long time now so what better way to try it out than using non-permanent hair chalks! It would also be really fun to try ombre hair and they are perfect for fancy dress parties.

Socks: Topshop are known for their pretty socks and since christmas is nearly here i thought what better way to get in the christmas spirit then with a pair of festive socks! But it is still a bit early to be wearing Santa or Christmas tree socks so these socks are perfect to get in a wintery mood! And i thought these Unicorn ones were also really cute and fun.

Srunchies: I already have two velvet scrunchies from Urban Outfitters and i wear them ALL the time. When my hair is looking really boring and bland i just put it up in a messy half up-half down style with a scrunchie and it looks like i have spent ages on my hair. Plus my favourite decade is the 90's and this leopard one really reminds me of 90's clothes.

Nail Polish: I'm not really a one for dark nail polishes but i love autumn colours like burgundy. So this colour from Barry M is a perfect alternative. It like a pinky-burgandy and i think it would look perfect with gold sparkle on top!

Eye Shadow Set: I have been on the hunt for a natural brown-berry eyeshadow set for a while now and this one from NYC is exactly what i wanted. They are the perfect autumnal colours and it even shows you where to put the colour.

Brow Set: I have quite mental brows and i am terrible at filling them in so all i do to them is brush a brow set through them. Most days i don't wear any makeup but i always put brow set on. My current one has nearly run out and it's doesn't do the job very well but i have heard such goos things about this one from Mac.

Eye Shadow Stick: These are a perfect alternative to eye shadow because you don't need a brush and they can't smash and they are really easy to carry around and apply on the go. I also think that eyeshadow sticks stay on for a much longer time then powder shadows too. These one are only £3.19 each so perfect for teenagers or people starting out their make-up collection. I would use this pink-champagne colour (Vintage Blush) on my inner corner and under my eye and the brown colour in my crease (Hot Chocolate).

Mascara: I have heard a lot about this mascara and it sounds amazing. I can't say much about it except it looks like a very original mascara and i love getting new mascaras.

Dress: I don't own any party dresses or any dresses that i can get away with wearing to a party mainly because i don't go to many parties. But for me it's always around Christmas and New Year that all the Birthday Parties happen. I chose this dress because it's so basic, you can pair it with a pretty blouse for a posh party or you can pair it with a cute cardi for more casual party! I always go to a party overdressed or wearing bright colour clothes and everyone else it just in jeans and a pretty top!

What are you asking for for Christmas? xox

Black and White Tumblr Things

Owning Tumblr is one of the many joys of my 'internet wasting time'. I could spend many hours on there even though i still can't work out how to work it properly. You can't own Tumblr with-out reposting a black and white picture...here are some of my favourites.

Halloween Wanties

Matte nail polishes have been seen on every catwalk this season. They remind me of a chalk board. I love how they look so polished and like your nail is just naturally black. Couldn't get any more Halloweeny if we tried!

I've never really been that great at carving pumpkins so why not wear one on my head instead? This really cute beanie from ASOS is just too cute. After halloween you could cut off the green stalk and then it would just be a orange beanie.

Mittens are the cutest thing a girl could have in her wardrobe. I've always thought mittens with a string on are so adorable. I love these little kitty ones from ASOS. You don't even have to just wear these on halloween.

Claire's was basically my childhood. Even though they are a little over priced, i will forgive them because this headpiece is just so classy and cute! It kind of reminds me of a run-away cat bride...

BOO! Headbands with words on seem to be the trend lately. Urban Outfitters is ripping you off here because you could just make this out of a few pipe cleaners.

Asos is always my go to for tights because they have so much selection. I found both these really cool tights in the Halloween section. I love the bats ones because the bats are so high up that if you wear a short skirt they just peep out the top and aren't just boring plain tights. And the cat ones are just the most adorable tights i've ever seen and you can wear them in a casual outfit too.

In the whole of the world i don't think there will be one make up lover not wearing black eyeliner on Halloween. Eyeliner pens are so easy to use and L'Oreal is everyones favourite eyeliner brand. The Blackbuster gives a really big and sleek line.

Obviously Halloween is a time for dark lipsticks. I don't think i could ever dare going out in a full black lip but i think i could go as far as a dark dark purple. It's not very easy to see but the lipstick i have chosen from mac is Cyber. I'm planning on lining my lips in black and ombre-ing them in.

What are you doing for Halloween?

Spooky Spider Cupcakes

They didn't exactly turn out as beautiful as i was hoping but if they taste good i'm happy. I'm going down to see my brother in Leeds for a few days so thought i would make some cupcakes to get into the festive mood. They look really homemade and not at all professional but oh well...

This recipe makes 12 cupcakes.

Ingredients:

110g Caster Sugar
110g Self raising Flour
2 Eggs
2 tbsp Milk
1 tsp Vanilla Extract

For Decoration:

A Reasonable Amount of Icing Sugar
Decorating Pens
Any Round Chocolate (e.g Maltesers, Pebbles)
Strawberry Laces
Halloween Sweets (i decided not to use these because i liked the spider idea more)

Method:

1.Preheat the oven to 180C and line a 12-hole muffin tin with paper cases

2. Cream the Butter and Sugar together in a bowl until pale. Beat in a egg a little at a time then add the Vanilla extract.

3. Fold in the Flour using a metal spoon and gradually add the milk.

4.Spoon the mixture into the paper cases.

5. Bake in the oven for around 15 minutes.

6. When they are finished baking, leave them out so they can cool. While waiting for them to cool, prepare the icing.

Icing:

1. I didn't measure how much icing sugar i needed, i just guessed. Sift as much as you think is right into a bowl and keep adding water and keep stirring until it is thick enough.

Decoration:

1. Evenly spread out the icing on all the cupcakes.

2. Before the icing dries, stick on your round chocolate.

3. Break up the strawberry laces into little legs and stick them on.

4. With the cake pens draw two little eyes on the body.

I really hoped you liked this post, please tell me if you make them.

My Halloween Nails

I painted my nails green this morning but felt like they looked a bit too bright. I decided what better time to paint my nails for halloween. I'm just in a bit of a festive mood. I'm so proud that i painted all my nails of both hands with out having to remove anything!
I used:
Barry M Gelly Nail Polish in Key Lime
Silver Fern Nail Supreme Nail Decorating Pens
Barry M Base Coat and Top Coat

Maybelline Baby Lips Review

*feel free to just miss out this post because you might be as bored of Baby Lips as i am*

Baby lips have been a massive phenomenon in the lip moisturising world. I own all of them except the Minty Fresh because i'm not keen on the idea of a mint lip balm. Out of the 5 that i own i like three of them. Practically, every girl at my school has them and they are constantly plastering them on their lips. The three tinted one are such a good product for people starting out their makeup collection and are so easy to build up.

Peach Kiss is a dark peach/neutral pink with a shimmer to it. This one is the most moisturising of the lot and smells exactly like peaches. It hides any dry skin and makes the lips look fuller and healthier and completely repairs them with only one or two applications.

Pink Punch is a much more stronger colour and is a favourite with my friends. Again, is really moisturising and hides any dry skin. It looks like a lipgloss but isn't at all heavy. This colour lasts a long time on your lips and applies well. And it smells like fizzy strawberries.

Cherry me is a natural red which isn't as moisturising as the other two. It doesn't hide dry skin as well but the colour is more wearable then Pink Punch. Red colours suit me a lot more but i don't think i could ever wear a bold red lip to school so this product is a good alternative.

There is no difference between Intensive care and Hydrate except Hydrate is a little bit more moist and smells like lemonade. They do nothing for my lips and both dry off my lips in two seconds. I would not recommend these to anyone.

What's your favourite Baby Lips?

Weekly Wanties #5

Hey guys, i feel like i haven't been getting many new followers lately and i no one has left me any comments for months. Please do let me know if you are not enjoying my posts or anything like that.

Wow! October already? Time flies when your having fun. Already preparing myself for some festive halloween post! Here are some of my Weekly Wanties from this week...
Such a staple piece for Autumn/Winter. I have never found a scarf that i have really loved for years because all of them are just too brightly patterned or too boring. This scarf hits the pin straight on the head. It has a slight vintage/retro feel and looks warm but not too thick that it makes you hair go into a trillion knots, which i always find happens. This scarf is currently sold out on the Urban Outfitters website but is still in stores.

Since Autumns here, i thought a blush that looked like autumn sunsets would be perfect for this weeks wanties. It's a warm rose gold with a some shimmer in a shade called Pinched. This shade is more on the browny pink side so i would wear it with a neutral pink lip and winged liner.

Cut out dresses have been a must have for Spring/Summer 2k13 and i'm defo prepeared to bring them into Autumn. They make outfits feel so much more flirty. This dress has warm pink and purple tones so i would wear it with dark purple wooly tights and a large navy duffle coat. For only £20 this is a bargain!

I have such bad under eye circles that are constantly there and no amount of sleep will get rid of them. I prefer to use a stick concealer because i feel like it gives more coverage and is easier to work into the skin and won't give a cakey look. Most raved about concealers aren't ever sticks so i'm curious to try some.

Clueless is my favourite movie. And what clueless lover wouldn't want a print of one of the most famous quotes from any 90's movie? This is probably my most used quote from any movie so i will happily have this on my wall.

I've already have all the baby lips except the minty fresh and cherry me. Considering minty fresh doesn't have a colour pay off and i'm not too sure if i really want my lips to smell like mint, then that one can wait. I haven't been able to find cherry me anywhere. I suit red lips more then i suit any other colours so this was the shade i wanted most. They only give a little colour so are perfect for school.

Because i'm so young i don't really want to be slapping my face with foundation all the time. I want to start to wear BB cream instead and just wear foundation when i want more coverage. BB cream primes, evens skintones, moisturises, brightens, covers blemishes and conceals any colour imperfections. BB creams are easier to work into the skin than foundation and you don't need to wear concealer with it.

Accessorize nail polishes are my Holy Grail. So easy to put on, such a huge range of colours and last for ages. So why not try Accessorize's blush and see if it's just as amazing? I chose this colour because i think it would look great with a deep purple lip and a dark smokey eye for a dramatic Autumn look.

Ebay is my best friend. I am constantly checking for good deals or just looking on it for a quick browse.  I always end up finding around 10 things i love, adding them to my watch list then completely forgetting about them. I am in deep need for a little handbag that can fit a decent amount of things in because most of mine have no space for anything but a purse and my phone. I found this on Ebay for under £10 and i have completely fallen in love with it. It makes me think of a chunky knit and a leather satchel mashed together.

What have you been drooling over this week so far?

Car Boot Sale Haul

Having never really been to a boot sale before, i jumped at the chance when i was invited by a family friend. I only managed to find £7 down the back of the sofa and that was defo enough. I managed to get 6 things, all from good high street shops. I would really recommend going to one because everything there is so cheap and they even sell house hold think like loo brushes, tooth brushes and kitchen towel. I'm planning on going again because they had a lot of good make up brands there for very low pricey and most still in packaging. A lot of the high end make up brands like Mac will all be copies and fakes so watch out.

Not too sure where these are from but am guessing Topshop.

My Workout Tips, Tricks and Wants

So i've got to that age where you either put on a drastic amount of weight or turn into a stick. We all know what way i want to go...Personally i don't want to be super thin; i just want to be healthy and active. Since i get out of breathe walking up my school stairs i thought it was time i should do something about it. I've started doing a half an hour workout whenever i can (about 2 to 3 times a week) but am trying to start doing it more often. I have also joined sport clubs at school and i cycle to school (this will have to stop soon because the weather is getting very chilly). So here are 7 of my top workout tips and tricks...

1. So simple, yet so effective! Having bright clothes just brings me so much happiness. Sometimes i like to look in the mirror while i do some of my exercises to either rally myself or to check if i'm doing it correct. Having bright clothes just makes me feel very powerful and strong.

2. If you are into stretching and things like plank then i would recommend going on Instagram or Tumblr while you are in the stretch. It completely takes your mind off the pain and makes the time go much quicker.

3. While doing the Plank i like to watch a music video or a YouTube video. Again keeping my mind off the pain while doing something that i would normally do while doing homework which wastes time.

4. Listen to songs that you know the words to. Sounds silly but i love to sing along while i working out. Rocking on to Miley Cyrus always works nicely. But make sure the songs play for a decent amount of time or have it on shuffle. Personally, i don't normally like putting it on shuffle because some song i don't like to work out to. If you are doing one minute exercises then play a five minute song so then you can fit in 5 exercises.

5. Work out a routine. My routine is working my way up to quite hard and energetic exercises and then going back down again and doing my final stretches.

6. Make time for it! I like to come home from school and maybe check Blogger for any new post or do a tad of Internet shopping or watch a show i missed on catch up. Then do my workout and while i'm doing my stretches at the end i like to look in my school planner and find any homework i need to do and just plan what order i'm going to do my homework in or think if i need for it. After i'm done i do my home work and have a shower.

7. Damp your sports bra before doing a workout. I discovered this because my sports bra was on the washing line and wasn't completely dry, i just decided to wear it because i didn't have another one. While doing the workout it made me feel really refreshed and not too overheated. I've been doing it ever since.

And my work out wants...

Weekly Wanties #4

Cropped, tartan, logo t-shirt all in one! Couldn't get any better really. Being a complete tartan obsessor- Autumn in my favourite season mainly because tartan is one of the major trends. Tartan makes everything look so cosy probably because it reminds me so much of cosy blankets that you have to put on your bed in Autumn and Winter. I think this top would look super autumnal with some high waisted Mom jeans, a snug boyfriend jumper and some dark orange nail polish. Who wouldn't want a top saying "RECKLESS YOUTH"?

The Anastasia Beverly eye-brow duos have been raved about by every american blogger/youtuber i know. I'm not sure if this was ordinarily just an American product but i defiantly know you can buy it from net-a-porter. For me, eye brow are the most important part of my make up and i look a bit eye-brow-bald when they aren't filled in. I haven't yet been able to find a eye brow pencil/shadow that works well for me, so hopefully this might be it! I love that it comes with two colours so you can alternate or highlight with one and fill with the other.

Timberlands= New Dr Martens. Not saying that i don't totally adore my DM's but i think this year i want a little change from my usual DM boot. Some will say i will look like a builder but some will say they look amazeballs. Either way they will be mine soon... I think they just look down-right perfect with Mom jeans or Boyfriend jeans. They don't look as clunky and aren't as brightly colours as most DM's. Personally, i don't even bother buying boots from any clothes shops because they just break in 2 seconds and whats the point in having a pair on winter boots that can't last through one day of rain? And for the snow the only way is the Dr Marten way.

One of my least favourite parts of painting my nails is having chipped polish on for days because i can't be bothered to get the cotton wool out and find the nail polish remover so being able to just dunk my fingers in and out of a little pot of...squishy stuff sounds like a dream. I'm also told it doesn't leave you fingers feeling completely attacked my chemicals like nail polish remover always does.

Not the most Autumnal colour but just took at the sparkle! And with a name like mermaid tears, how can you resist? The cling film looking sparkle really does make me imagine what mermaid tears would look like. I love how blue and purple look so feminine together.

If you know me well you will know that clueless in my favourite movie and tartan is my favourite print and the 90's was my favourite decade. So this dress just makes me want to do a happy little dance. I don't even know what to say about this  except it makes me extremely over excited and makes me clap my hands together like a happy seal. I have actually tried it on in the shop but haven't been able to take it to the till and bring it home sadly.

My mum has steered me away from buying skinny jeans because i'm not super duper skinny and they are just so uncomfortable compared to Mom jeans and Boyfriend Jeans. I have no need to look super skinny so why buy super skinny jeans? I love these black/grey ones from Topshop because they just look so grunge. My style is slowly become more casual and no better way to look casual then a pair of Mom jeans and an oversized tee.

See you later chikkas

My 5 Back to School Secrets

So for many of us school has started and so has Autum/Winter. Paperchase even thinks Christmas is just around the corner. So i have put together 5 of my top tips for school time...Enjoy.

1. Always have a 'go to' outfit. If you are one of those "i have nothing to wear" girls then always have a outfit that is quick and easy and perfect for all weathers and activities. Mine is my New Look play suit which i have had for 2 years and is in perfect condition. It is stretchy so easy to move about in, not too tight in the waist so i can still breathe, when jumping (as you do) it doesn't fly up, easy to ride a bike in, has a cute collar and is easy to wear in every season either with a cardigan or thick tights.

2. Have a little pouch/small make up school bag in your bag with all your essentials, i just use a pouch with cute sunflowers on that i got from a Company magazine.
My essentials are:
-Hand sanitiser
-3-4 bobby pins
-1 butterfly clip
-2 hair bands
-Tissues
-Lip gloss
-Lip balm
-Compacted mirror with a hair brush
-Small sample of hand cream now Autumn/Winter is coming

3. Always have a memory stick ready. You never know when you will need one (especially when your homework is overdue). I keep mine in the front pocket of my little pouch but you can easily attach it to your keys.

3. Concentrate. Sounds easy but it's pretty hard when all you can think about is TOWIE and how much you want that new Topshop jacket. It always turns out that i start daydreaming on the most important part of what the teacher is saying. To help me concentrate i just write "concentrate" on my hand and when i day dream i always end up looking at my hand and so that brings me back down to earth. If you would rather not give yourself ink poisoning then maybe write it on your planner or a book.

4. Make your books pretty! It's so simple to do AND it makes work much more fun. All you have to do is do is go to Paperchase and buy some nice wrapping paper (or use some leftovers that are lying around) and stick it on the cover. So far my English book has got cats flying in spaceships on the front, my geography book has unicorns and rainbows on and my Maths book has moustaches on. This is simple, cheap and fun to do and it makes such a change to the way the lessons goes. Don't forget to ask your teacher before decorating the cover just in case.

5. Bring a snack. So simple but makes such a huge difference. Especially now Winter is on it's way and it will soon start feeling like classes are getting longer and breaks are getting shorter. You just need that boost of energy to get you few the next few lessons until lunch. I would recommend anything from Bear nibbles and Tracker bars they are both small and fill the gap.

E45 Nourish and Restore Lotion for Dry Skin

So it's been a while...3 weeks to be exact. I have been incredibly busy doing everything but somehow doing nothing. My cat died on the 5th of August and i was on holiday from the 8th to the 24th. I have also been obsessing over T.V, Instagram and chilli crackers so had no time to post (pathetic, i know). But never fear i am back and i feel refreshed and able to write!
This is a very overdue post that i have been sponsored to do (complete honest opinion given).

When the sun is out in London it's sweaty and when the wind comes it's dry . So i need a moisturiser that refreshes me in the Summer but still gets rid any dry skin in the Winter. And i think i have found one...The E45 Nourish and Restore Lotion for Dry Skin. I have never tried any E45 products but i knew they were a very Holy Grail company like Vaseline. It does exactly what i says on the tin: helps prevent dry skin and retain moisture. Maintaining and nourishing sun tanned skin is hard but this moisturiser makes it easy. I wouldn't say that it is sticky but it does take a little while to dry. Despite that you do need a fairly large amount, it gives you a healthy glow. One place that i commonly get dry skin are my elbows and i have seen a vast improvement.

What i think: Stiletto Nails

When this trend came out i straight away thought (i need them in my life and then then I thought...) i need to write a blog post about these bad boys! I am not a massive fan of false nails and they are a bit of a love or hate thing. But i L.O.V.E the Stiletto nail trend! There is also the Almond nail trend and they are basically a little bit shorter and a little but rounder then the Stiletto nail.
Stiletto nails have been seen on celebs like Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and Rita Ora. They are so girly and feminine and there are so many different ways to change them up. In this post i will show you different ways that to paint and file them.
