Big News♡

So as you have probably noticed, i haven't been posting much lately. I have finally decided that i am going to start a new blog. This is because i feel like a need a fresh start because all my posts seem to be a bit repetitive and i don't like the name of my blog anymore. But the main reason is that i think i have grown out of this blog (and i want a new blog design, woo). I hope you guys are ok with this. I am going away for 3 weeks and when i get back it will be my little holiday project to start up my new blog.

It is going to be called Evie Dylan which is my first and second name. It will be quite similar to this blog but a bit better (hopefully). The post will be better planned and won't all be lists and collages. Hopefully you will all follow my new blog and maybe i will get more followers on Evie Dylan.

Thanks for a great year of blogging. Evie

When School Gets in the Way♡

There is no other excuse to my one month absence except school. I have been exceedingly busy revising for tests, writing essays, making projects and doing every other type of homework there is. I thought for a long time about what to write about and it finally came to me; write about how to get homework done on time but still fit all the other things in. I have done a post on homework and organisation before. This post is more about fitting the other things in. On my walk home from school i mentally prepare what i have to do when i get home and plan out my time and the order of importantcy.

Homework
I don't want to write too much because i have already done a post on this, but my best advice is to do your homework as soon as you get home and remember when it is due. Plan what days you will do which homework and don't over estimate how much you can do in one night. If i have a long essay to do i write two pages and check them over on one night then the same the next day then check it all over and print it out on the day after that. Always leave time for printing and sticking.

Showers/Baths
This is the easiest of all the things you need to organise. The days when i do sport activities i wash my hair and the days i don't i just wash my body or don't have a shower. On school nights i only have time for a shower but on saturday morning i have a long, relaxing bath. I normally leave myself 20 to 30 minutes to have a shower because it takes me about 10 minutes to dry my hair and a bit longer to get changed and do anything else.

Music Practice
Depending on how many instruments you play and how strict your parents are, the amount you have to practise each day varies between different people. All my friends and myself practise everyday for half an hour. I struggle with fitting it in and making up for the days when i can't do it. I recommend getting it over with as soon as you can. Half an hour is not a lot of time so fitting it in after homework is easy. I think the main reason why i don't have time for it is because i am on my phone so much that it takes up all my time. When i have to make up for time i don't do it in one day because an hour of practice is too much, i get bored and distracted. I spread it out over two or three days so i do an extra 10 or 15 minutes.

Extra Things
One thing i always forget to do is leave time for things that only take me a few minutes each like packing my school bag, having a snack, brushing my teeth. Each evening i leave 15 minutes to do this.

How do you guys stay organised?

Iphone 4s Cases♡

If you follow me on Instagram (@evie_elliott) you will know that i recently got an Iphone. I was due for an upgrade in a month but i decided to pay the contract off so i would have an Iphone for my trip to New York.

I just wanted a little help deciding on which phone case to get. As you can see from the picture above, i don't like boring phone cases. I like big bulky or over-the-top rhinestoned cases. I have chosen 3 hard cases, 3 rubber cases and 2 rhinestoned cases. Tell me your favourite one in the comments below.

1: Fifi Lapin is a illustrated character who is a little bunny rabbit with very good style. She is always seen wearing top designer clothes. Check out her blog here.

2. This is obviously not the real Moschino Mcdonalds-inspired phone case (who spends £30 on a phone case?) but i found this dupe on for a fifth of the price! I do not eat Mcdonalds, i am one of those girls that LOVES salad so it's ironic.

3. I never had Lisa Frank growing up because we never had it in the UK. But i think i need this phone case to make up for all those years missed. It's so girly and childish!

4. What could be better than kitties in geek classes?

5. Lilo and Stitch is my all time favourite movie. I always wanted my own pet stitch and i know practically every single line. This phone case may not fit in my pocket but it's just so adorable.

6. This is quite a simple rhinestone case. I really like the daisy print but knowing Claire's it will break in two days.

7. Toy Story is my brothers favourite movie. The alien is so cute. I want three eyes!

8. This case from Etsy is a really over-the-top, multicoloured case. The only problem with rhinestoned cases is that they don't sit flat onn the table.

Tell me your favourtites in the comments below. xox

A Face Washes for Each Skin Type♡

It feels like forever since i took photos for my blog. Lately, my posts have only consisted of lists and fashion collages. I made an extra special effort with these pictures (as you can tell by the fairy lights).

My skin tends to change its mind all the time. In the Winter, my skin is dry and tight, in the Summer, my skin feels incredibly greasy and then in the time inbetween my skin feels like combination (I  party blame this on English weather.) So to conclude I own three face washes...
It has taken me a fair amount of time to find three perfect face washes for my skin. But since skin care in so reasonable priced in the Drugstore, I didn't end up wasting too much money. I was really disappointed because a lot of the products I tested didn't do what they promise on the packaging.
I  am a teenager so I do suffer from 'teenager skin'. I wanted to quickly tell you what my skin is like so that if you have similar them these face washes/scrubs are perfect for you. I have huge pores on my nose that are quite visible, I rarely get white heads but when I do they are near my nose. I also get blackheads on my forehead and I get about 1 new pimple a week that can easily be popped. Once in a blue moon I get an irritating spot that is sometimes itchy and is normally caused by stress. You are probably really grossed out and  thinking "woah, TMI!" But carry on reading to find out what products I use to save my skin.

 Dry and Sensitive Skin:
The 'Clearasil Rapid Action Gel Wash'* is the most moisturising face wash i have ever used! This is probably down to the fact that it is a gel wash. I had no experience with gel face washes so i didn't know what to expect. What i liked most about this face wash was that it wasn't heavy. It glides on the skin so smoothly and it is very light and gentle on the skin. After using this face wash for just one day, i noticed how smooth my skin was, but i didn't find that it did anything for my spots. I would recommend this for people who have dry or sensitive skin but if you have spottier skin, this is not for you.

 Oily and Spot Prone Skin:
This face wash is perfect for when i'm having a bad skin day. It has large exfoliating beads that help scrub off all the dirt and grease from the day. They also help to unblock pores. My skin feels completely clean after i have used this so normally i only use it in the evening and a different wash in the morning. I would recommend this to people who have spot prone skin and like a heavy face scrub.

 Combination and Normal Skin:
I personally like a face wash that really feels like it has got rid of all the dirt from the day and has stripped my face bare from any spot bacteria. This does just that and that explains why it is my favourite. I would say this is perfect for all skin types. It is more gentle than the 'Clearasil Rapid Action Scrub'* but fights spots better than the 'Clearasil Rapid Action Gel Wash'*. It has tiny exfoliating beads that get right into your pores and deeply cleanse them. It also has a delightful fresh smell. My face doesn't feel tight after using this, instead it feels squeaky clean. I use this on days when my skin is having a good or bad day!

What is your favourite face wash? xox

Bringing Spring Trends into Summer♡

Haven't got the money to be keeping up with all the new trends each season? Here are my tips to stay within a budget but still look trendy.

1. Yellow. Yellow is a colour that is neither more Spring nor more Summer. Whenever the sun is out, you can get away with wearing any type of yellow: pastel or bright. My favourite way to wear yellow is on knitwear because it makes the yellow look more casual and not so "wow that's bright...i need to put my sunglasses on!"

Instead of wearing this cropped jumper from Topshop with a floral dress, i would wear it with some jeans rolled up at the bottom and some really simple trainers to give an effortless but still put together look. This outfit would be most fitted for a picnic or walk in the park.

2. Lace Socks. Lace socks are the easiest (and cheapest) step to making any outfit look more summery. Whether you wear them with trainers or with boots, they automatically make you appear more girly and child-like. They can be paired with most clothing: dresses, jeans, skirts, but i would stay clear of clashing the colour of your shoe with the socks -choose harmonious colours.

Instead of wearing them with white trainers, i would wear these candy-coloured lace socks from Urban Outfitters with glitter jelly shoes or white sandals.

3. Daisies. Any type of flower is always going to be more of a Spring trend but wearing it in accessories instead of printed on clothing is an alternative option for Summer. In Summer you can get away with wearing any hair style no matter how crazy because it is festival season. I love huge daisy floral crowns like this one from Claire's.

If i was wearing this headband i would go all out and wear dungarees and a floral crop top to make the look really 'energetic'.

What Spring trends will you be wearing in Summer?

Graduate Fashion Week♡

If you have been reading my blog for a while, you will know that last year i got the chance to go to Graduate Fashion Week. GFW is basically a week full of fashions shows showing off graduates work. It was truly amazing to see what young people can design. This year i was privileged enough to be able to go again. This year was a bit different- i only got a chance to go to the catwalk instead of being able to talk to lots of designers. I love the atmosphere of catwalks and commenting on peoples outfits. Here are a few snaps i took...
Have you been to any fashion shows recently?

New York: May 2014♡

For as long as i can remember, i have always wanted to go to New York. I used to tell my mum that i was going to live there when i was older and i was so envious of her when she got to go every other year with her work. The huge, flashing billboards in Times Square, the view of the skyline and the extravagantly famous paintings in all the museums, all appealed to me greatly. Finally, my wish has come true (as cheesy as it sounds). In exactly 3 weeks i will be jetting off to New York with my mum and dad. We will be staying in the East village for one week.

I obviously have a few ideas on where to go and what to see but i need your help! I want to know the best nail bar in Brooklyn, all the best vintage shops and unique boutiques, best breakfast cafes and restaurants. Do you know of any flee markets or good places to get a belly button piecing done? I want to have the majority of the days planned out but most of the time we will just be 'mooching' around and discovering new places.
Here are my ideas so far:

-Central Park
-Broadway show
-Stature of Liberty
-MOMA
-Rockefeller Center
-Times Square
-Brooklyn Bridge
-China Town
-Little Italy
-Manhattan Skyline
-Yankee Stadium
-FIT Museum
-High Line
-Bronx Zoo
-NY or Brooklyn Botanic Gardens
-Empire State Building
-Ground Zero
-Brooklyn Flee Market

Please leave me all your recommendations and ideas in the comments below.
Are you going on holiday this year? xox

Happy Easter ♡

I'm sitting here at eleven o'clock in the morning munching on my Easter egg thinking of how fat i'm going to be at the end of today and how i will regret eating it. I still have a whole box of chocolate, another Easter egg and a roast dinner to eat.
This is just a little post to saw happy Easter and to show you my handmade cards. Instead of buying my parents chocolate, i always prefer to make a card because it looks like i have put more thought into it. These cards were so easy to make and took no time at all. It reminded me of when i was younger, when i used to love doing finger painting. There was nothing more satisfying that picking off dried paint from you fingernails or glue from your fingers.
Have a great Easter but don't eat too much chocolate.

What are you up to today? Does your family still do Easter egg hunts?

How to Choose the Right Bikini for You♡

I know that you might not want to admit it but bikini season is getting closer. Every year up until now i have felt fine with my body but suddenly this year my stomach has ballooned out. I eat much healthier than i used to but am still bigger than i was. I blame this on 'being a teenager'. But i will not make excuses or give up! My goal is to have a perfectly polished stomach by the summer. When my body is ready i am going to reward myself with a new bikini. Every year i struggle to find a bikini that suites my body shape; some make my hips look too big, some look see through, some make my boobs fall out (all i will say is never buy a Primark bikini), some make my stomach look fat.
Here are my top tips for avoiding any beach bale outs or any swimming pool shames:

1. Go bikini shopping with a close friend that you trust will give you their honest opinion. Honestly is very important for me when it comes to shopping. I want my friends to tell me if it looks awful or i need a smaller size because i don't want to come home with the wrong thing.

2. Shop with someone who is a similar size to you. I often make the mistake of taking my skinniest friends bikini shopping and they look amazing in every bikini and i look like a pregnant frog. This obviously makes me feel really insecure and i always just want to go home.

3. Workout what parts of your body you want to hide or enhance. If you like your hips maybe choose a bikini that has detailing on the hips (number 6) or a high-waisted one (number 1). I really dislike the lower part of my stomach so i will probably go for a high-waisted one (number 9) or one with detailing around the top (number 3) to take the attention off my stomach.

4. Think about what colours match your skin tone when it is tanned. If you tan really dark choose a colour like white (number 2) or pink to bring it out. If you are very pale choose a bikini with a bold pattern
(number 4) on to distract the eye from how pale you are.

5. Think about where you are going to wear the bikini. if you are going to wear it at the beach you might not want a white bikini because the sand will stain it. I always bring two bikinis on holiday with me- one for the beach which is normally a cheap one and then i have a nice one for swimming pools and sunbathing.

Here are my favorite bikinis that are in store now:
1/ 2/ 3/ 4/ 5/ 6/ 7/ 8/ 9

Have you brought your bikini for Summer 2014 yet?

My Sale Picks♡

It's that time of the year anticipated by all...SALE SEASON! I can never contain my excitement when i get an email from Urban Outfitters or Topshop telling me that a sale has begun. I immediately click the link and spend my whole lunch time drooling over all the gorgeous clothes at such low prices. But the worst thing is finding an item you brought at great expense thinking "oh, this will never go on sale" on the sale rack for less than half the price you payed. It's happened to us all.

Lately, i have been feeling like my wardrobe has been lacking some floral prints. This skirt from Urban outfitters is a perfect way to wear the daisy trend with out looking like a toddler going to day school. My favorite thing to wear in spring is probably skirts because they are so versatile so will look great with anything.

Who remembers Garfield? I had completely forgotten about him until i saw this top. I don't think i would ever pay full price for a joke top like this one but i would pay sale price. I could never wear this out the house unless i was just going to the corner shop. This would probably become my favorite pyjama and 'i can't be bothered' day t-shirt.

Even though coat weather has pasted, I still feel like i have a duty to buy this one from Topshop. When buying coats i always tend to go towards the more basic colours like black and navy. Maybe i should try a really colourful coat. Do any of you own any brightly coloured coats? It's even got a fluffy hood; perfect for acting like an Eskimo. And it even has boob pockets because everyone needs them...

I've never really been brave enough to try a coloured pair of jeans but since they are more of a Spring trend i really want to try them. Because these ones are quite a dark colour that wouldn't blind you if they reflected off the sunlight, i think they would work well in most outfits. These are also slightly cropped so will work perfectly for spring.

It's quite strange but i already own a pineapple bodycon dress, but who doesn't need another one? I find bodyon dresses quite difficult to wear because when at a party, you tend to eat a lot of bad food which can make your belly pop, and if you are wearing a tight dress, sometimes it doesn't look that great.

I used to be the queen of friendship bracelets- i would have them all the way up my wrist on both arms. I think this watch is such a innovative idea. From a distance it would just look like a friendship bracelet. I always have the issue that watches look too posh and formal for an outfit when i want it to look more grungy, i think Asos have answered my prayers.

This bracelet is also another interesting idea. It looks exactly like you have just wrapped a climbing rope around your wrist but it has an elegant gold chain. I love the contrast. You could easily make this at home with a pretty rope and a bracelet clasp.

I have been looking for a plain and simple shoulder bag for a while now and i think i have found one! This cute little bag from Asos is the perfect size to fit all my things in and i love how gold and tan look together. Tan will literally go with any outfit too so you won't have to think about matching your outfit with your bag everyday.

This velvet crop top would have been a perfect for valentines day. I love how feminine red velvet looks and it reminds me of the cupcakes called red velvet. Velvet matches with everything too and makes every outfit that little bit more feminine and put together.

I would pair these tartan shorts with a black velvet crop top or an over sized cream jumper. They look so preppy and remind me of the days when i used to play online dress up games. Tartan skirts are so last season, tartan shorts are the new thing!

Have you brought anything in the sales yet?

School Clothing and Makeup Essentials♡

Crops tops are just a must for summer. The majority of shorts and skirts that i own are high waisted. I don't want to be wasting my day faffing about with tucking my top in. Having my top tucked in also makes me incredibly hot. Black matches with everything and i think looks quite elegant too. My favourite look is a crop top with a maxi skirt.

Depending on what your school allows, you might be able to wear Converse or Vans for P.E. I have chosen these New Balance trainers because you can get away with wearing them for P.E because they are more sport trainers than fashion trainers but you can also wear them with a cute pair of lace shorts and a crop top. This saves money as well because you don't have to buy two pairs of trainers.

I believe every girls should have a mascara that makes them feel like their eyelashes are like butterflies. I know that a lot of schools don't allow makeup to be worn so the Falsies is perfect. It's the most natural mascara i own and this one has two brushes, one for top and one for bottom. If you wanted a really natural look you could use a small layer of the lower lash mascara on your top lashes.

I literally have nothing to say about black leggings except if you don't have a pair, how do you survive?

I sometimes get really awful spots that are so red and visible that they look like little strawberries on my face. I am also prone to getting dry skin around them. I haven't had a chance to try this concealer yet but i have been told that it is good for all skin types and lasts all day. This sounds perfect for me because i have combination skin so sometimes it's very greasy and sometimes it gets very dry. I also have little time to touch up in the day.

I decided to put in two options of bags because everyone has their own preferences. Personally i prefer backpacks because my bag generally starts to get exceedingly heavy near to the end of the day and i walk to school and back so i find it to be less heavy and not so much weight on one shoulder.
I also don't have the hassle of having to push it back on my shoulder every time it falls off. When choosing a new bag, i always tend to steer towards the plain bags because if my outfit is very classy or has a lot of colour or pattens, i don't want a crazy patterned bag destroying my look. In the past few years i have stopped going to Accessorize because their bags are such poorly made and have such a hefty price tag. The last bag i brought from there had the buckle the wrong way round and the material ripped almost straight away. For good, sturdy backpacks i would recommend Eastpak and American Apparel. I have completely fallen in love with this scalloped satchel! It's so simple yet so sophisticated. It has two handles and a front pocket so would be perfect as a school bag. Gold and Tan complement each other really nicely.

This is another basic. I find ankle socks so helpful and they are perfect for summer. I just feel like they are a must have and you can even get special sport ones that have 'breathing holes' or something jazzy like that.

Me and my best friend have a serious issue with people not brushing their hair when they go outside. I totally get it when you're going for the "i woke up like this" look but when the knot in your hair is as big as a fist...come on! You are asked to look acceptable at school and i think brushing your hair is the 1st step to that! I have never really had a problem with tangly hair but recently my hair started to get quite thin and when i brushed it lots of hair would rip out. I decided to ask for the Tangle Teazer for my birthday and now i understand why it is so amazing. It is quite an expensive item to buy but if your hair is incredibly tangly or very thin then i would recommend this. The one in the edit above is made for carrying around in your handbag so it had a little lid to stop the hairs from going all over your bag.

At least one day a week, my hair just won't do what i tell it. I try to plait it but it looks too tangly, i try to put it in a ponytail but it looks too sleek and then i try and do a half up-half down and my baby hairs are all over the place. Do you feel my pain, sister? My scrunchies are literally my life saviours. They take the attentions off the tangles and baby hairs and make the hairstyle look less sleek and perfect. You could even match your black velvet crop top with your black velvet scrunchie! I would always say choose a colour that will stand out. Black is always a good option but if you have ginger/strawberry blond hair try green, people with blonde hair try pink and red and people with very dark hair try purple and white.
Peace out Girl Scouts!

Surviving February: School Work and Organisation♡

I find it really difficult to get all my work done in time, be really organised and still have time to do everything else. So here are the tips that help me get through school work and being organised.

1. Prepare for projects and revision sessions. When i get a arty project as homework i always plan it and then list the materials that i need to buy/use. This just makes it easier so that when i come to actually doing it, all the things i need are set out and ready and it is basically done already. When revising for a test ask your teacher or make your own revision list. Basically everything that is going to be in the test. So then if you don't understand one topic that you studied you can highlight it on your list and go over it again or ask for help with it. So then you can go up to your teacher and instead of saying "I need help with revising for the test" you can say "I need help with finding the area of a circle."

2. Do it with a friend. I find revising way more fun if i have a friend. Also if one of you doesn't understand something then the other can explain it. Everything sounds easier if it's your best friend teaching it to you. Also if you have lots of lovely snacks like crisps and sweets then that's a bonus!

3. Plan out your day. It makes everything 10 times easier and it means you get everything done.
I already have my day today planned:
-Watch Call the midwife on Iplayer
-Write 3 blog post (i know, i'm such an organised blogger!)
-Read my school book
-Prepare cookie ingredient and put the mixture in the fridge
-While they are setting in the fridge do my saxophone practise
-Finish making cookies and put them in the oven
-Workout time!
-Revise for maths test, pack my bags for Leeds and do other bits and bobs like that.

4. Rewards! I always reward myself by watching a Youtube video after i have finished a blog post or after writing a long paragraph refreshing my Instagram or Snapchat inbox. If you are doing something really difficult like a practise test or an essay then i would recommend using food. Giving yourself one Maltesers after each paragraph or question and three after each page. But don't do this if you are writing a one hundred page book.

Do you ever revise with your friends?xox

Surviving February: Teachers and School♡

I know so many people that love school and a few who hate it. I'm a bit in between because sometimes i love school and sometimes i can't stand it and just want to stay in bed all day eating Rice Crispies. Especially in the Winter time i find it really difficult to stay motivated and concentrated. Here are my 3 top tips on surviving school.

1. If a teacher is really annoying you just take a deep breath. There is no reason fighting back because all that is going to happen is you will get in trouble- there is no benefit from it. What probably annoys me most about teachers is that they think they are 10 times better then everyone and 10 times more important and they always get everything right. Obviously, they are teachers and they do have some control over us and we need to accept that. If a teacher does this then instead of making a huge thing about it, just ask yourself "Is there any reason in getting myself in trouble when I'm not going to win this fight anyway?"

2. Don't get into bad habits. This is pretty self explanatory. Get your bag and outfit ready the night before and always check as soon as you get home from school if you have any homework due the next day. I always forget about homework and then find it in my planner the night before and stay up till midnight finishing it off. Also if you have pack lunch then at the start of the week think of what you need to buy or what you can have for lunch on each day. Bad habits can also occur with behaviour for example constantly calling out in class: this will a. be annoying and b. be disruptive to the whole class. It can also occur in friendships like always stealing your friends food or interrupting peoples conversation.

3. Don't get a reputation. This is the same for teachers and friendships. If a teacher thinks that you are just going to say a silly answer to a question then they won't choose you to answer it. If everyones knows that you spread gossip in seconds then no one will want to tell you their problems. Just remember to not be consistent with annoying things.

Whats you top tip for surviving secondary school?xox

Valentines Day Outfit Ideas: Date Day and Staying in with Friends♡

Well since tomorrow is the day dreaded for some and waited for by others, i thought i would show you a few quick and easy outfit ideas for which you don't have to buy anything new! Most of the items in these outfits most people will already own or if not then similar. They are also very basic outfits so just change anything that you don't like!
This look is for more of a casual date outfit that can be easily transformed into night with a clutch bag and dark purple lips. I have been obsessed with these types of dresses since i first saw them. I think they are so elegant and pretty but i was always sceptical about buying one because wearing a bra would completely ruin the dress. When i found this bralet in Victoria's Secret i was so pleased because it would look amazing with this dress. They are both lace material but the colours match so well that i think they would complement each other. I know in London at the moment you can't escape the rain and harsh wind so i paired the dress with a snuggly 'grandpa' cardi. I have so many of these cardigans now and if you don't have one i would recommend you buying one because i wear mine practically every day. They match everything! For the makeup and hair i wanted to keep it really flirty and feminine. No one whats to look really fake on valentines day but i really liked the idea of fluttery lashes with this outfit. These katy Perry ones are perfect because they aren't too full on but if you're like me and have no lashes, then they will give you that flirty flutter. Just to be in the spirit of valentines day i chose a red lip. I chose a lip lacquer instead of a lipstick so that it will stay all day and you won't have to worry about it smudging. Again i wanted the hair to be very flirty and feminine and theres no better way then curling your hair.

For Valentines day this year i am just having a few of my friends round and we are going to make red velvet cupcakes and have a very long gossip. Since it's just a few friends coming round i'm not coming to dress up in anything special but if you wanted to get in the festive mood this sweatshirt would be perfect. It's very casual so you could wear it to go shopping or just a girly day in like me. But the best thing about it is that you can wear it all year round! I found this phone case and fell in love. I have a serious thing for cute phones cases and i don't even have an iphone. It's like the kitties know you are all alone on Valentines day so are smiling especially for you...has this just got creepy? Instead of plain jeans i thought it would make a nice change to wear some sort of patterned jeans because the top is so basic. These ones even have little hearts on. My favourite part of this outfit has to be this bag. It's such a subtle pink that would look good with most outfits and it looks a bit metallic. I wear a really light pink lipgloss like this everyday because it looks so natural. I love this one because it reminds me of bubblegum and those heart-shaped, pink lollipops. I am well known for wearing my pyjama tops to school, I have no shame! I love this top from Forever 21 so much because it speaks the truth. I would tuck this into some mom jeans or just wear it as a long t-shirt dress with some knee socks. And who doesn't want a cute pair of fluffy slipper booties.

What are you wearing on Valentines day?xox

Surviving February Week 2: Friends♡

1. It's okay to get 'bored' of friends. It sounds like a horrible thing to say but sometimes if you spend so much time with your friends you start it get really bored of them and annoyed at everything they do. To avoid this try not to just spend all your time with one friend, try and even it out.

2. Don't gossip for the sake of gossiping or because everyone else is. You will end up saying something you regret or really hurting someones feelings. Try and change the subject like talking about what clubs you are going to that week or what you are doing on the weekend.

3. "Forgive and Forget not Revenge and Regret" If you are in an argument just remember all the good times you have had together and how many times they have been there for you. And i think hating or ignoring someone is so much effort and it doesn't help to resolve anything.

Surviving February Week 1: Food and Fitness♡

Lately i have been really into getting fitter and it was one of my new years resolutions too. Since i don't like many sports, i wanted to really get into eating healthily and doing workouts and sometimes even going for a run. Here are my tips to stay motivated when trying to be healthy:
1. Question yourself when you are hungry. I commonly find myself just eating because i'm bored or just for the sake of it. Ask yourself "Am i really hungry?" "Can i wait till my next meal?" and "Can i snack on something healthier or limit the size of my snack?".

2. Only put on your plate what you want. I always tend to put too much on my plate and then feel like i have to finish it all. You can always go back for more after.

3. While working out try taking your mind off the pain by going on your phone or listening to music. I normally leave all the texting and messaging i need to do for when i workout so i have something to do. You could also look up inspirational fitness pictures or quotes. These are some of my favourite quotes:

"Suck it up now so you won't have to suck it in later."

"It's not that you can't. It's that you won't."

"Squats: the difference between having a butt and having an ass."

"The body achieves what the mind believes."

"Nothing looks as good as healthy feels."

"If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you."

My average meal plan:

Breakfast: Seeded toast or Special K cereal with a fruit on top or banana and peanut butter sandwiches.

Lunch: Some sort of salad and 2 oranges.

Dinner: Never the healthiest meal but i always have a handful of vegetables.

Snack: Fruit and a smoothie.

My ab workout generally changes everyday but i normally choose between a few of these:
25 Crunches
25 sit ups
40 second plank
30 second spider man plank
20 double leg drops
30 single leg drops
15 reverse crunches
20 mountain climbers
30 seconds of russian twists
25 seconds of flutter kicks
25 V-crunches
20 knee sit ups

Surviving February Intro♡

Although my birthdays in February, i still think it's a bit of a depressing month. Christmas has well and truly gone, valentines day (need i say more) and it's the coldest month in the year. So i wanted to give you guys and myself a few tips and tricks that you can use to keep you motivated through this month. Each week i will give you tips on a different subject starting with food and fitness then going on to talking about friends, teachers and school and work and organisation. As you can tell these posts will be mainly aimed at my more younger teenage readers.

Hope you enjoy...
